In the heart of California's high-tech industry lies a 30,000-acre oasis for millions of migratory birds and endangered species.  The nation's first urban national wildlife refuge sits on the southern end of San Francisco Bay.  Original project scope included construction of 6.4 miles of levee erosion repair and raise the levee crest elevation. Erosion repair included import and placement of over 50,000 tons structural fill, riprap, 2,000 tons of crushed aggregate, geotextile and 12,000 SY of tied concrete block mats.  Teaming Partner: Goodfellow Brothers (GBI) of Northern California
